Arba Minch

Is an attractive town situated about 500kms south of Addis Ababa among green hills that offer superb views over the Rift Valley Lakes of Chamo and Abaya. It serves as the base to explore Nechi Sar National Park, the hot springs and Chencha village. Arba Minch lies at an elevation of 1300m in the foothills of the Rift Valley wall above a cliff overlooking the mountainous sliver that separates Chamo and Abaya. Nechi sar N/p protects large parts of the two lakes as well as fair sized herds of game. Chencha village: is a highland village lying about 37kms north of Arba Minch by road and is best known for its cold weather. It is the home of Dorze people renowned cotton weavers whose tall bee hive shaped dwellings are among the most distinctive traditional structures to be seen anywhere in Africa.

Konso

Konso

The small town of Konso lying about 90 km south of Arba Minch is a junction town connecting South omo and the road to Yabello. The Konso people of the surrounding hills adhere to a unique and complex culture. Karat –Konso forms an excellent base to explore the surrounding hills and villages. Some of the main points of interest include Dekatu, Mecheke, Gesergiyo village and walda Dawit Kallas traditional house. Konso cultural landscape is one of the world heritage sites of Ethiopia.
